Old Logo

The old logo showed the man in the centre of the ground with the stylisation of the ‘caduceus’ or cut of IGEA.

The Man, who in the logo evokes Léonard de Vinci’s ‘Vitruvian Man’, represents the patient: he is the object of any medical attention!

New Logo

The new logo symbolises the rebirth of the man who flies away in the sky and is free from his obesity or other health problems.

Also notice the stylisation of the man who was previously a prisoner of his stomach.

IGEA (Hygeia), in Greek as well as Roman mythology, was the goddess of health, and daughter of Asclepius the god of medicine.

Instead of Asclepius or Hippocrates, we chose IGEA as a symbol because it is a female image.

Women are always the guarantors of health within the family. They worry about the health not only of their children, but also of their father, their husband and their companion, too often improvident and inattentive.

It should be remembered that the etymology of the word “hygiene” comes from word IGEA.L’ hygiene of life. The therapeutic education of the patient is one of our main concerns, because we believe that prevention remains the main aim of correct information which will be transmitted, starting with our Web site.

IGEA is also an acronym : Information about Gastrointestinal-Surgery and Endoscopic Approach..

We decided to adopt a simple language to explain the definitions, causes, symptoms and treatment of the surgical diseases we specialise in. Our aim is to help our patients have simple reference points in their course of surgical care.

A large part of the website is dedicated to surgical cancerology and especially to the treatment of morbid obesity, the non-infectious epidemic of the century!

The details given on the site are not intended in any way to replace the information usually provided during an APPOINTMENT/CONSULTATION.

The green colour also communicates the security of their road forward, like a traffic light.

We chose the colour green in the logo, the backgrounds, the notes… to symbolise nature, the safeguarding of wellness and the environment… and the security of the way forward, which is necessary in the choices the surgery imposes !
